Pastor’s Prayer Partners I. OVERVIEW The Pastor’s Prayer Partners program is designed to give interceding prayer support for the pastor and the ministries of the church. Materials for this ministry are in English and Spanish. Those involved in this endeavor commit to pray for the:
This ministry functions under the primary oversight of the pastor. In addition, a Prayer Partners Coordinator should be appointed to assist the pastor. The coordinator’s responsibilities could include the preparation of a monthly newsletter, periodic prayer breakfasts and the annual Prayer Partners Retreat. Also, a Prayer Leader is appointed for each week to direct the prayer time in the pastor’s office. Prayer Partners commit to the following schedule of prayer:
During the Sunday prayer time, Prayer Partners gather in the pastor’s office at a time set by the pastor when he shares about the direction of ministry for the day and to learn of any special concerns needing prayer.
IV. PRELIMINARY STEPS Discuss the Pastor’s Prayer Partners program in a Men’s Ministries meeting and a special called meeting of all interested men of the church. V. IMPLEMENTATION As you study the Manual, you will be led through a systematic approach to this great and critical ministry. After recognizing the need for Pastor’s Prayer Partners, you will be guided through the “Pastor’s Prayer Partners Mission,” the “Steps for Developing Pastor’s Prayer Partners,” “Pastor’s Prayer Partner Covenant,” guidance on “Praying For Your Pastor, Your Church, Lost People, Your Community, and Your Personal Ministry.” Finally, a good look at the “Seven Temptations For Prayer Partners To Avoid,” and the “Seven Rewards For Prayer Partners.” |
